| When the ROTW-group (France) designed their Pa19 F.BOER for the FLY2 simulator
I was very happy to have this model in my simulator. Many years ago I was working at Rotterdam-Airport-Zestienhoven , and I thought it would be nice to have a Dutch Pa19 for this great flightsimulator as well. The repaint I made was the Dutch PH-WAP it was one of the Pipers used by Mastboom-Vliegbedrijf the company for wich I was working in the sixtees. This was the first repaint I ever did and I was only able to do this with the great help from Jean Sabatier (ROTW) and Grant Millikan. I made the same repaint for the Microsoft Flightsimulator Fs9 based on a Pa18 model by J.E.Narcizo (Brasil) Repainting is a very nice job to do and with the PH-WAP it did not stop. The second livery I made was the R163, actually a L18 ( the military version of the Pa19), the Dutch Army used many of them for many decades. After the R163 , I painted the U-E, the little yellow bird flying in the sixtees over North-Africa . This ALAT (Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre / French Army light aircraft) plane served the Foreign Regiment in Algeria. Number four, the French Zebulon, was an ALAT plane too and it is a real beauty and a kind of flying museum-piece. It is owned by Xavier Besse ( living in the south part of France ) who is still flying this yellow/black striped war-bird. Number five is the AS525 ( actually a L18C ) who served the German Luftwaffe around 1960 as a primary-flight-trainer , this plane rests at the Luftwaffe Museum in Berlin. Number six is a repaint of a French Piper owned by one of the many French Air-Clubs. Number seven is the L18C LN-ACF this plane flies at the Drammen Flygklubb in Norway. The Pipers in Norway had a very attractive colorsceme and colorfull decals. |
